Camas Prairie and Pardee's Gravel Pit
From Missoula, Montana travel west on Interstate-90 for about 8.5 miles (14 km), exit State Highway-93 and drive north for about 27.5 miles (44.3 km) to the junction of State Highways 93 and 200 at Ravelli. Turn west on highway 200 and drive about 20 miles (32.2 km) to the junction of highways 200 and 382. Drive north on 382 for about 10.3 miles (16.6 km), then turn east on Big Gulch Rd. The gravel pit is located on the north side of Big Gulch Rd, 0.7 miles (1.1 km) east of Highway 382 (N47° 30' 03", W114° 35' 28.7"). This is the gravel pit described by Pardee (1942, p. 1588), exposes several of the giant current ripples.
