Ninemile Creek Roadcut
From Missoula, Montana travel west on Interstate 90 for about 25 miles (40 km). The Ninemile Creek Roadcut of well-exposed Glacial Lake Missoula sediments is located just west of Ninemile Exit 82 and just before crossing over the Clark Fork River (N47° 01'13", W114°22'43"). If you take Exit 82 first and head north on the I-90 Frontage Road, which heads uphills and gradually turns west, follow it for about 3/4 mile until arriving at a vehicle pullout across from a north-side roadcut (N47°01'28", W114°22'50"). This roadcut exposes the upper dozen or so rhythmites seen in the main Ninemile roadcut along I-90.
